The short version
- You own what you send through Inference Bureau and what the models send back. We use it only to run the service.
- Usage is paid from a prepaid balance at the prices on the Pricing page. Promotional credits pay for usage and can't be withdrawn.
- Requests go to the model providers you route to, and their terms apply to what they do with them.
- Don't use the service to break the law, harm people, or get around the limits of the models or the service.
- The service is provided as is. Our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Inference Bureau ("we", "us"). They cover the website, the console, the API and every product reached through them, including Auditor (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use the service for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you have the authority to do so; "you" then means that organization too.
You must be at least 18, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Your account and team
Keep your account details accurate and your password, passkeys and two-factor backup codes private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Usage is organized into teams. A team's owners and admins decide who belongs to it, what they can see, and how its balance is spent. Everything done with a team's API keys counts as that team's use, so keep keys secret and revoke any you think have leaked.
The service
Inference Bureau sends your requests to third-party model providers, applying the Directives, routing and budgets you set, and records what each request cost. Which providers and models are available, and their prices, change over time; the Models, Providers and Pricing pages show them as they are now.
Some features are marked Beta. They may change, break or be withdrawn, and we may ask you for feedback on them.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to:
- break any law, or help anyone else break one;
- create or spread content that sexually exploits children, incites violence, or harasses, defames or threatens people;
- create malware, or attack, probe or disrupt any system or network without permission;
- get around a model provider's usage policies, or the rate limits, budgets or security of the service;
- resell or offer access to the service as a standalone API without our written agreement;
- send personal data you have no right to share, or health, payment card or other regulated data the service isn't meant for.
The model providers' own usage policies also apply to requests sent to them. We may refuse requests, or limit or suspend access, to stop misuse.
Your content
"Your content" is what you send through the service (prompts, files, code and other inputs) and what the models return for you (outputs). As between you and us, you own it.
You give us permission to host, process, transmit and store your content only as needed to run the service for you: to send it to the providers you route to, to apply your Directives, to keep it where a setting you turned on (such as Log content) asks us to, and to keep the service secure. We don't use your content to train models.
Model outputs can be wrong, incomplete or similar to outputs others receive. Check them before you rely on them, especially for decisions that affect people.
Model providers and integrations
When a request goes to a model provider, that provider handles it under its own terms and policies. Directives such as Require ZDR and Require no training limit which providers we send a request to, based on what the providers have committed to; we don't control what they do.
Connecting a GitHub repository, a Shopify store, Linear, Jira or another integration gives the service access to it as you authorize. Your use of those products stays under their terms. You can disconnect an integration at any time.
Payments and credits
Usage is paid for from your team's prepaid balance, at the prices on the Pricing page at the time of the request. You can top up by card, and you can turn on automatic top-ups, which charge your saved card when the balance runs low. Payments are processed by Stripe.
When your balance runs out, requests are refused until you top up. Where we have agreed a credit limit with your team, usage beyond the balance is invoiced and due within the agreed terms.
Starter credit, suggestion credit and other promotional credits pay for usage only. They have no cash value, can't be withdrawn or transferred, and may expire as described when they are given.
Prices exclude taxes unless stated; you are responsible for taxes that apply to your purchases. Top-ups are not refundable except where the law requires, or where we decide to refund at our discretion. If you think you were charged by mistake, email us within 60 days.
Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything, except the credit described on the Roadmap page when it applies.
Changes to the service or these terms
We improve the service continually and may add, change or remove features. When a change takes something away that you pay for, we'll give you reasonable notice.
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll tell you by email or in the console before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
Suspension and ending
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from your account settings.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if you don't pay what you owe, if your use puts the service or others at risk, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
When your account ends, the sections on your content, payments owed, disclaimers, liability and indemnity continue to apply.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the service, any provider or any model will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce accurate output.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, even if we were told they were possible.
Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100.
Indemnity
You'll defend and hold us harmless against third-party claims arising from your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms, and pay the costs and damages that result.
General
These terms, with the Privacy policy and any order or agreement we sign with you, are the whole agreement between us about the service. If a part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right isn't giving it up. You can't transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the service.
